Inspired by the beauty of nature, memories of the past and wonderings of the future, I create art to capture moments in life.  Be they moments in nature, life or time, I treasure the power and promise each moment holds.

Artist Statement

Life’s moments and capturing them is what inspires and drives me to create.
Nature, whether human or environmental, is a continuous resource of ideas.
Painting allows me to explore these moments and share my inspiration with others.
This exploration enables me to artistically express memories, feelings and emotions
experienced during life’s precious moments. Waves crashing to the shore,
the experience of loss, the unknown, or a childhood memory are played out on the
canvas as a dialogue between the depths of my mind, its memories, hopes, dreams
and fears, and the canvas transpire.

Conceptual, realistic and surreal describe the styles in which I paint. Sketching and
journaling allow me to refine my ideas and vision prior to the artistic process of creating an
artwork. Working in traditional painting mediums, I explore themes using my
imagination and whatever creative methods are needed to communicate my ideas.
Arranging visual elements in over lapping layers allows me to communicate a
story as the narrative unfolds. The goal of creating is to allow the viewer to
experience the moment that I was compelled to delve into on the canvas. Some
moments are simple and pure, while others are complicated and perplexing
conversations with the self.

It is the special moments in life that we remember more than any thing else.
I love contemplating and painting the moments that make life so special, these occurrences
demand our attention. Creating meaning in my art, be it from the past or present, allows me
to extend and enrich my experiences through my work.
